General Questions

1. What is kombucha?

Kombucha is a naturally fermented tea packed with probiotics and antioxidants. It’s fizzy, refreshing, and great for your gut - like a soft drink, but actually good for you!

2. What is a SCOBY?

SCOBY stands for "Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast" (bit of a mouthful, we know). It’s the living culture that ferments tea into kombucha. It might look like something from a sci-fi film, but trust us - it’s magic for your booch!

3. Does kombucha need to be refrigerated?

Absolutely! Our kombucha is raw and unpasteurised, meaning it’s alive. If left out, it keeps fermenting…and trust us, you don’t want to open an overexcited can of booch!

4. What is the shelf life of your kombucha?

Our booch is best enjoyed fresh, but it has a shelf life of 6 months. Always check the best-before date (found at the bottom of the can), and if it tastes extra tangy, it’s probably been having too much fun in the fridge.

5. Is your kombucha vegan, gluten-free, alcohol-free, and organic?

Yep! It’s vegan, gluten-free, and made with organic ingredients. It does contain a tiny trace of alcohol from fermentation (less than 0.5% ABV - so no, you won’t get tipsy off it!).

6. Is kombucha safe for pregnant women?

Many pregnant people enjoy kombucha, but we always recommend checking with your doctor - there’s a small amount of natural alcohol and caffeine.

7. How many cans of kombucha can I drink a day?

We recommend starting with one can and seeing how your gut feels.

8. Where can I buy All About Kombucha?

You can order directly from our website, grab a can in SuperValu, Maxol, or Centra, or reach out to us at sales@allaboutkombucha.ie to check if we’re stocked in any of your local cafés and restaurants!

Stockist & Deposit Questions

1. How can I become an All About Kombucha stockist?

We’d love to have you on board! Fill out our Become a Stockist form, and we’ll get in touch quicker than you can say “fermentation.”

2. Do you require a deposit for your cans?

The deposit fee is added to orders as part of Ireland’s Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), which encourages recycling. A €0.15 deposit applies to our cans. Customers pay this fee upfront and can reclaim it by returning the empty container to a participating return point. This system helps reduce waste and promote a circular economy.

 Subscription Questions

1. How can I track my order?

Once your order ships, you’ll receive a tracking number to your email or phone number.

2. Can I pause my subscription?

Unfortunately, we don’t have a pause option, but if you're going on holidays or won’t be around for a scheduled delivery, just let us know in advance! We’ll happily reschedule your delivery to a date that works better for you - whether that’s before you head off or when you return. Just give us plenty of notice, and we’ll take care of it!

3. How do I change my delivery address?

You can update your address in your account settings, just make sure to do it before your next billing cycle.

4. Can I change the frequency of my subscription?

Absolutely! Whether you need more booch or want to space things out, you can adjust your delivery schedule in your account.

5. Can I change the flavors in my subscription?

Yes, mix it up! Just update your preferences in your account.

6. How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime through your account settings.

7. Do you deliver to the UK?

Right now, we don't deliver to the UK.

Deluxe Kombucha Kit Questions

1. Does my SCOBY look healthy?

If your SCOBY has brown strands, bubbles, or looks a bit alien-like, don’t worry - it’s probably just fine! The brown spots or threads are yeast and tea sediments, and the cellulose is still forming in the first few days. However, if you spot any bluish or green mould, that’s a sign something went wrong, and it shouldn’t be used. If you’re unsure, send us a pic - we love SCOBY selfies!

2. My SCOBY is growing another layer - is this normal?

Yes! This is part of the Scoby life cycle and is perfectly normal.

3. What should I do with my SCOBY if I’m going away?

If it’s a short trip, just leave it in a jar with some starter tea at room temp. Going away for longer? Stick it in the fridge and call it a "SCOBY holiday."

4. My SCOBY bag is bulging - is it still okay to use?

Yep! That just means your SCOBY is alive and well. Totally normal! We’d recommend starting your brew or transferring your SCOBY and starter liquid into your brewing vessel.

5. Is my kombucha fermenting at the right temperature?

Kombucha is happiest between 23–25°C*.

6. I lost my Booch Bible - can I get another copy?

No worries! We can send you a PDF version. Email us at marketing@allaboutkombucha.ie

We also have the Booch Bible available as Gaeilge, so just send us an email and ask!
